Project Ideas for Bachelor of Humanities and Arts

Bridge critical inquiry and creative practice to address cultural and societal issues.

🏛 Introduction

CMU’s BHA enables students to pair any discipline in the Dietrich College of Humanities & Social Sciences (history, linguistics, global studies, etc.) with a CFA art, design, architecture, drama, or music concentration. Whether analyzing migration narratives in sociology while composing documentary scores, or studying philosophy of mind while crafting interactive installations on identity, students create scholarship-art hybrids that resonate beyond academia. The Senior Research & Practice Thesis culminates in a public symposium and gallery showcase.
