UIUC’s Latin American Studies BA fuses anthropology, political science, economics, environmental studies, and the arts to illuminate Latin America’s diversity and global impact. Students gain proficiency in Spanish, Portuguese, or an Indigenous language while collaborating with Chicago’s Latino communities and participating in field schools from the Andes to the Amazon. Graduates address hemispheric challenges in public health, international education, journalism, and sustainable development.
