UVA’s BA in Human Biology offers a unique fusion of biological sciences with humanities and social sciences. Students explore human health and disease through the lenses of genetics, evolution, ethics, anthropology, and public policy. The program promotes interdisciplinary thinking, scientific literacy, and societal awareness, preparing students for careers in medicine, public health, law, or science communication. A senior thesis and capstone seminar provide opportunities for original research and deep reflection on complex bioethical issues. The program is housed in the College of Arts & Sciences but closely aligned with the UVA School of Medicine.
