UVA’s BS in Special Education prepares future teachers to support students with disabilities through research-based instructional strategies and inclusive practices. The program emphasizes classroom management, assessment, behavior intervention, and collaboration with families and specialists. Students complete extensive fieldwork and student teaching in K–12 classrooms. Graduates are eligible for teacher licensure and are equipped to promote equity, advocate for diverse learners, and create positive, accessible educational environments for all students.
