This MS fuses molecular-scale contaminant chemistry with systems-level sustainability analysis. Students engineer PFAS-destroying plasma reactors, model aerosol transport of pathogens, and deploy sensor networks tracking nutrient runoff to Lake Michigan. A core in environmental chemistry, physico-chemical processes, and microbial ecology is complemented by electives in climate finance and environmental justice. Field intensives partner with USEPA labs and NGOs, ensuring graduates can translate bench breakthroughs into equitable policy.
