Northwestern’s Gender and Sexuality Studies BA equips students to analyze how identities and social structures intersect to shape lived experiences and institutional outcomes. Courses examine feminist theory, queer politics, transnational activism, and health disparities, while praxis-based projects partner undergraduates with local LGBTQ+ centers, reproductive-justice clinics, and global NGOs. A research-methods sequence teaches critical ethnography, archival investigation, and digital storytelling, enabling majors to craft intersectional analyses that inform policy, media, and community interventions. Alumni lead in public health, law, tech ethics, and social-justice advocacy.
