UMD’s Anthropology BA offers an integrative approach to studying human experience across time and space. Students engage with archaeological field methods, biological anthropology, and ethnographic research to investigate culture, language, identity, and human evolution. With an emphasis on critical thinking and cultural sensitivity, this program prepares students for roles in cultural resource management, international development, public health, and museum curation. The department supports fieldwork opportunities and interdisciplinary collaboration with other social sciences.
