The BA in Germanic Languages and Literatures combines intensive language acquisition with deep dives into the cultural histories of German-speaking Europe and Scandinavia. Students tackle primary texts in German, Dutch, or Scandinavian languages; examine movements such as Romanticism and Expressionism; and analyze transatlantic intellectual exchange. Study-abroad semesters in Berlin or Vienna, internships at museums, and faculty-led research nurture globally minded graduates in business, diplomacy, arts, and academia.
