Ohio State University’s BA in Art Education equips students with the knowledge and skills to become effective, inclusive, and innovative art educators. The program integrates studio practice, educational theory, pedagogy, and fieldwork in schools and community organizations. With a foundation in both creative expression and teaching methods, students explore how the arts support learning, identity formation, and social connection. Graduates are prepared for licensure in K–12 visual arts teaching and can also pursue roles in museum education, curriculum design, and arts administration. Emphasis is placed on equity, cultural responsiveness, and contemporary challenges in art education.
